# Exam Countdown vs StudyRank

The clearest difference is ads: StudyRank at none against Exam Countdown's shown. StudyRank also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Exam Countdown's advantage is ratings volume (1.6K vs 4) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Exam Countdown sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months and StudyRank sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StudyRank holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Exam Countdown has 1.6K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Exam Countdown's written reviews are positive against 100% of StudyRank's.

Exam Countdown ships an update every 5 weeks, StudyRank every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
