# Appeared vs Flying Gorilla

The clearest difference is rating: Flying Gorilla at 4.9 against Appeared's 4.3. Flying Gorilla also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (58K vs 6). Appeared's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flying Gorilla sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Appeared asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flying Gorilla holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flying Gorilla has 58K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Appeared's written reviews are positive against 95% of Flying Gorilla's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Appeared ships an update every 11 months, Flying Gorilla fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
