# Signal vs Crait Lite

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Crait Lite at none against Signal's 1. Crait Lite also leads on iOS requirement (12 vs 15.0). Signal's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (1.1M vs 10). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Signal sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Crait Lite asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Signal against 4.7 for Crait Lite. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Signal has 1.1M ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Signal ships an update weekly, Crait Lite every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
