# Symbolab vs AUST

The clearest difference is rating: Symbolab at 4.6 against AUST's 3.8. Symbolab also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 31). AUST's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and in-app purchases (none vs 8). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Symbolab sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. AUST asks for nothing beyond the download.

Symbolab holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Symbolab has 26K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Symbolab's written reviews are positive against 100% of AUST's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Symbolab ships an update monthly, AUST every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
