# Symbolab vs EduCalc Pro

The clearest difference is price: Symbolab at Free against EduCalc Pro's $1.99. Symbolab also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 32). EduCalc Pro's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 60%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Symbolab is free to download; EduCalc Pro costs $1.99 up front. Symbolab sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days and EduCalc Pro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Symbolab against 4.5 for EduCalc Pro. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Symbolab has 26K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Symbolab's written reviews are positive against 82% of EduCalc Pro's.

Symbolab ships an update monthly, EduCalc Pro every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
