# レシピー vs Progate

The clearest difference is ads: レシピー at none against Progate's shown. レシピー also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 50%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. レシピー sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Progate sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for レシピー against 4.7 for Progate. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: レシピー has 148 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of レシピー's written reviews are positive against 50% of Progate's.

レシピー ships an update weekly, Progate every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
