# Subtitles Viewer! vs Subai

The clearest difference is ads: Subtitles Viewer! at none against Subai's shown. Subtitles Viewer! also leads on ratings volume (398 vs 5). Subai's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Subtitles Viewer! sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Subai sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Subtitles Viewer! holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Subtitles Viewer! has 398 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Subtitles Viewer! ships an update every 2 months, Subai fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
