# GPX vs Open GPX Tracker

The clearest difference is price: Open GPX Tracker at Free against GPX's $0.99. Open GPX Tracker also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 54%). GPX's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (1.7K vs 133). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Open GPX Tracker is free to download; GPX costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GPX holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPX has 1.7K ratings behind it against 133, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of GPX's written reviews are positive against 67% of Open GPX Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPX ships an update every 5 weeks, Open GPX Tracker every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
