# Echo Prayer vs LWML

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: LWML at none against Echo Prayer's 10. LWML also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Echo Prayer's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Echo Prayer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. LWML asks for nothing beyond the download.

Echo Prayer holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Echo Prayer has 22K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Echo Prayer's written reviews are positive against 100% of LWML's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Echo Prayer ships an update monthly, LWML every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
