# Music Maker JAM vs Rap Maker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Music Maker JAM at free with in-app purchases against Rap Maker's subscription. Music Maker JAM also leads on ratings volume (11K vs 1.1K). Rap Maker's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Music Maker JAM sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month and Rap Maker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Music Maker JAM against 4.6 for Rap Maker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Music Maker JAM has 11K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of Music Maker JAM's written reviews are positive against 74% of Rap Maker's.

Music Maker JAM ships an update monthly, Rap Maker every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 19, 2026.
