# Otocast vs AR

The clearest difference is rating: AR at 5.0 against Otocast's 4.0. Otocast's advantage is ratings volume (14 vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AR holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Otocast has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Otocast ships an update every 2 months, AR every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and September 16, 2026 respectively.
