The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MSA Swim School at none against Swimtopia's 2. Swimtopia's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 27 months) and ratings volume (6.1K vs 20). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Swimtopia sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. MSA Swim School asks for nothing beyond the download.
