# VB Scoreboard Basic vs Ultimate Scoreboard

The clearest difference is rating: Ultimate Scoreboard at 4.7 against VB Scoreboard Basic's 3.4. Ultimate Scoreboard also leads on ratings volume (377 vs 5). VB Scoreboard Basic's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VB Scoreboard Basic sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Ultimate Scoreboard sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ultimate Scoreboard holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ultimate Scoreboard has 377 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of VB Scoreboard Basic's written reviews are positive against 73% of Ultimate Scoreboard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VB Scoreboard Basic ships an update every 3 weeks, Ultimate Scoreboard every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
