# O'Reilly vs Seattle Tree Walks

The clearest difference is rating: O'Reilly at 4.7 against Seattle Tree Walks's 3.7. O'Reilly also leads on ratings volume (34K vs 18). Seattle Tree Walks's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

O'Reilly holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: O'Reilly has 34K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of O'Reilly's written reviews are positive against 50% of Seattle Tree Walks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

O'Reilly ships an update fortnightly, Seattle Tree Walks every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
