# Diary, Journal, Notes vs Recorda

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Recorda at none against Diary, Journal, Notes's 2. Recorda also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). Diary, Journal, Notes's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (4.5K vs 11). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary, Journal, Notes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per year. Recorda asks for nothing beyond the download.

Diary, Journal, Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary, Journal, Notes has 4.5K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Diary, Journal, Notes's written reviews are positive against 73% of Recorda's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
