# Bulbes vs What

The clearest difference is rating: Bulbes at 5.0 against What's 4.5. Bulbes also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and review sentiment (82% vs 67%). What's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bulbes sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and What sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bulbes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 4 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Bulbes's written reviews are positive against 67% of What's.

Bulbes ships an update every 3 months, What weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
