# RSS Video Player vs RSS Media Viewer

RSS Video Player and RSS Media Viewer both sit at 3.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of RSS Media Viewer's written reviews are positive against 21% of RSS Video Player's. RSS Media Viewer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). RSS Video Player's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RSS Video Player sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. RSS Media Viewer asks for nothing beyond the download.

RSS Video Player holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of RSS Video Player's written reviews are positive against 100% of RSS Media Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RSS Video Player ships an update every 2 weeks, RSS Media Viewer monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and September 2, 2026 respectively.
