# DTE Insight vs GovAlert

The clearest difference is rating: DTE Insight at 2.7 against GovAlert's 2.0. DTE Insight also leads on ratings volume (287 vs 8) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 5 months). GovAlert's advantage is review sentiment (52% vs 20%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DTE Insight holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DTE Insight has 287 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of DTE Insight's written reviews are positive against 52% of GovAlert's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DTE Insight ships an update every 6 weeks, GovAlert every 5 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
