# DTE Insight vs Meridian Lighting

The clearest difference is rating: Meridian Lighting at 4.3 against DTE Insight's 2.7. Meridian Lighting also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.6). DTE Insight's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 25 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Meridian Lighting holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 287 and 418 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of DTE Insight's written reviews are positive against 14% of Meridian Lighting's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DTE Insight ships an update every 6 weeks, Meridian Lighting every 25 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
