# Slideshow Maker vs MovieMaker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Slideshow Maker at freemium against MovieMaker's subscription. Slideshow Maker also leads on ratings volume (10K vs 876). MovieMaker's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Slideshow Maker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and MovieMaker sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for Slideshow Maker against 4.0 for MovieMaker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Slideshow Maker has 10K ratings behind it against 876, so its average is the more settled of the two.
