# TextBehind vs Prison Voicemail

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TextBehind at 89% against Prison Voicemail's 60%. TextBehind also leads on ratings volume (467 vs 5). Prison Voicemail's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Prison Voicemail holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextBehind has 467 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of TextBehind's written reviews are positive against 60% of Prison Voicemail's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
