# TextBehind vs Empower

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TextBehind at 89% against Empower's 58%. Empower's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and chart position (#191 vs unranked). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Empower holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 467 and 477 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of TextBehind's written reviews are positive against 58% of Empower's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TextBehind ships an update monthly, Empower every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
