# VCP vs NovaNote

The clearest difference is rating: NovaNote at 4.0 against VCP's 3.0. NovaNote also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 35 months). VCP's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 33%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 26.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NovaNote holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of VCP's written reviews are positive against 33% of NovaNote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VCP ships an update every 35 months, NovaNote every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
