# Learn Russian vs Russian Word Flashcards Learn

The clearest difference is monetization model: Russian Word Flashcards Learn at free with in-app purchases against Learn Russian's subscription. Learn Russian's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn Russian sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Russian Word Flashcards Learn sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Learn Russian holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn Russian has 243 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Learn Russian's written reviews are positive against 90% of Russian Word Flashcards Learn's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Learn Russian ships an update fortnightly, Russian Word Flashcards Learn every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
