# Stopwatch vs Timy

The clearest difference is rating: Stopwatch at 4.5 against Timy's 3.6. Stopwatch also leads on ratings volume (71 vs 19). Timy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 8 months). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stopwatch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Timy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stopwatch holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 71 and 19 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Stopwatch's written reviews are positive against 63% of Timy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stopwatch ships an update every 8 months, Timy every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
