# Important Dates vs NCS

The clearest difference is ads: NCS at none against Important Dates's shown. NCS also leads on update cadence (every 7 months vs every 18 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Important Dates ships an update every 18 months, NCS every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
