# Important Dates vs Countdown

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Important Dates at none against Countdown's 1. Countdown's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 months vs every 18 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Important Dates asks for nothing beyond the download.

Important Dates ships an update every 18 months, Countdown every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
