# CameraKit vs Previs Shot

The clearest difference is rating: CameraKit at 4.7 against Previs Shot's 4.0. CameraKit also leads on ratings volume (321 vs 8). Previs Shot's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (80% vs 66%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CameraKit sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Previs Shot sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CameraKit holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CameraKit has 321 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of CameraKit's written reviews are positive against 80% of Previs Shot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CameraKit ships an update every 2 months, Previs Shot every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
