# Magalu vs Extra Mercado

Magalu and Extra Mercado both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 47% of Magalu's written reviews are positive against 15% of Extra Mercado's. Magalu also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (14K vs 344). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Magalu against 4.7 for Extra Mercado. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magalu has 14K ratings behind it against 344, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 47% of Magalu's written reviews are positive against 15% of Extra Mercado's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
