# Scanner vs OMEGA Scan

The clearest difference is rating: OMEGA Scan at 5.0 against Scanner's 1.8. OMEGA Scan also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Scanner's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OMEGA Scan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scanner has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scanner ships an update monthly, OMEGA Scan every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
