# Scanner vs Revo Scan

The clearest difference is rating: Revo Scan at 2.4 against Scanner's 1.8. Revo Scan also leads on ratings volume (37 vs 5). Scanner's advantage is review sentiment (37% vs 18%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Revo Scan holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Revo Scan has 37 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Scanner's written reviews are positive against 18% of Revo Scan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scanner ships an update monthly, Revo Scan every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
