# PingID vs EditPDF

The clearest difference is rating: EditPDF at 4.3 against PingID's 2.1. EditPDF also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). PingID's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EditPDF holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PingID has 409 ratings behind it against 62, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PingID ships an update every 6 weeks, EditPDF every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
