# Traffic Maps vs GPS Navigation & Live Map

The clearest difference is rating: Traffic Maps at 4.7 against GPS Navigation & Live Map's 4.4. Traffic Maps also leads on ratings volume (6.5K vs 777). GPS Navigation & Live Map's advantage is review sentiment (76% vs 66%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Traffic Maps sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and GPS Navigation & Live Map sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Traffic Maps holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Traffic Maps has 6.5K ratings behind it against 777, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Traffic Maps's written reviews are positive against 76% of GPS Navigation & Live Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Traffic Maps ships an update monthly, GPS Navigation & Live Map every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
