# Traffic Maps vs Archies Explorer

The clearest difference is ads: Archies Explorer at none against Traffic Maps's shown. Archies Explorer also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Traffic Maps sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Archies Explorer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Traffic Maps ships an update monthly, Archies Explorer every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
