# WindCheck vs WX View

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WX View at none against WindCheck's 2. WindCheck's advantage is ratings volume (165 vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WindCheck sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. WX View asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for WindCheck against 5.0 for WX View. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WindCheck has 165 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WindCheck ships an update weekly, WX View fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
