# 18Birdies vs Shell RIDE

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Shell RIDE at none against 18Birdies's 14. 18Birdies's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (306K vs 4). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 18Birdies sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Shell RIDE asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for 18Birdies against 5.0 for Shell RIDE. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 18Birdies has 306K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
