# 18Birdies vs Pluto

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pluto at none against 18Birdies's 14. Pluto also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). 18Birdies's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (306K vs 33). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 18Birdies sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Pluto asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for 18Birdies against 4.9 for Pluto. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 18Birdies has 306K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two.

18Birdies ships an update weekly, Pluto every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
