# 18Birdies vs DiscScout

The clearest difference is ratings volume: 18Birdies at 306K against DiscScout's 14. 18Birdies also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and chart position (#5 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 18Birdies sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and DiscScout sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

18Birdies holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 18Birdies has 306K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of 18Birdies's written reviews are positive against 67% of DiscScout's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
