# 18Birdies vs Wedge

The clearest difference is monetization model: Wedge at free against 18Birdies's freemium. 18Birdies's advantage is ratings volume (306K vs 49) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 18Birdies sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Wedge sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

18Birdies holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 18Birdies has 306K ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of 18Birdies's written reviews are positive against 78% of Wedge's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

18Birdies ships an update every 6 days, Wedge fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
