# The Magical Typewriter vs Wolf

The clearest difference is ads: Wolf at none against The Magical Typewriter's shown. Wolf also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (9.7K vs 329). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Magical Typewriter sells 15 one-off in-app purchases and Wolf sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wolf holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wolf has 9.7K ratings behind it against 329, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of The Magical Typewriter's written reviews are positive against 76% of Wolf's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Magical Typewriter ships an update every 5 weeks, Wolf every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
