# Splat vs Proloquo

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Splat at 100% against Proloquo's 46%. Splat also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 18.0). Proloquo's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 15 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proloquo sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Splat asks for nothing beyond the download.

Proloquo holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proloquo has 148 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Splat's written reviews are positive against 46% of Proloquo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Splat ships an update every 15 months, Proloquo every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
