# The Document Converter vs PDF Tools & Utilities

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Tools & Utilities at 67% against The Document Converter's 36%. PDF Tools & Utilities also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). The Document Converter's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (6K vs 11). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Document Converter sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PDF Tools & Utilities sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Document Converter holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Document Converter has 6K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of The Document Converter's written reviews are positive against 67% of PDF Tools & Utilities's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
