# The Document Converter vs AnyScan

The clearest difference is ratings volume: The Document Converter at 5.9K against AnyScan's 1. AnyScan's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Document Converter sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and AnyScan sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AnyScan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Document Converter has 5.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Document Converter ships an update every 5 months, AnyScan monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
