# The Document Converter vs Winmail Viewer

The Document Converter and Winmail Viewer both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Winmail Viewer's written reviews are positive against 36% of The Document Converter's. Winmail Viewer also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 months). The Document Converter's advantage is ratings volume (6K vs 19) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Document Converter sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Winmail Viewer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for The Document Converter against 4.7 for Winmail Viewer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Document Converter has 6K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 36% of The Document Converter's written reviews are positive against 100% of Winmail Viewer's.

The Document Converter ships an update every 5 months, Winmail Viewer every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
