# MegaBox vs SBS

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MegaBox at none against SBS's 15. MegaBox also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 102). SBS's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SBS sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. MegaBox asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 1.9 for MegaBox against 1.8 for SBS. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MegaBox has 2.1K ratings behind it against 102, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 15% of MegaBox's written reviews are positive against 17% of SBS's.

MegaBox ships an update monthly, SBS every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
