# animatope vs GraspJPN

The clearest difference is ads: animatope at none against GraspJPN's shown. animatope also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). GraspJPN's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 30 months) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. animatope sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GraspJPN sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

animatope holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GraspJPN has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

animatope ships an update every 30 months, GraspJPN every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
