# PromptSmart Pro vs FieldNotes

The clearest difference is price: FieldNotes at Free against PromptSmart Pro's $29.99. FieldNotes also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks). PromptSmart Pro's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 3) and chart position (#15 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

FieldNotes is free to download; PromptSmart Pro costs $29.99 up front. PromptSmart Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and FieldNotes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FieldNotes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PromptSmart Pro has 12K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PromptSmart Pro ships an update every 6 weeks, FieldNotes weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
