# PromptSmart Pro vs Format Finder

The clearest difference is price: Format Finder at Free against PromptSmart Pro's $29.99. Format Finder also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 6 weeks). PromptSmart Pro's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (12K vs 22). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Format Finder is free to download; PromptSmart Pro costs $29.99 up front. PromptSmart Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Format Finder asks for nothing beyond the download.

PromptSmart Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PromptSmart Pro has 12K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of PromptSmart Pro's written reviews are positive against 54% of Format Finder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PromptSmart Pro ships an update every 6 weeks, Format Finder every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
