# ScratchJr vs Amigos de Jesús

The clearest difference is rating: Amigos de Jesús at 5.0 against ScratchJr's 3.9. Amigos de Jesús also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 11.0). ScratchJr's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 25%) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Amigos de Jesús holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScratchJr has 1.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of ScratchJr's written reviews are positive against 25% of Amigos de Jesús's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ScratchJr ships an update every 6 months, Amigos de Jesús monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
