# ScratchJr vs YaYa Math

The clearest difference is rating: YaYa Math at 5.0 against ScratchJr's 3.9. YaYa Math also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). ScratchJr's advantage is ratings volume (1.9K vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

YaYa Math holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScratchJr has 1.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ScratchJr ships an update every 6 months, YaYa Math every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
